Common faults and solutions of the wireless AP panel

In this section, we are going to talk about: common faults and solutions of the wireless AP panel.

As one kind of wireless APs, the wireless AP panel is very common in our life. Especially in some high-end condos, hotels and residences, wireless AP panels are mounted to improve the Internet access experience and have become popular increasingly. Such panels can be seen as the switch and the core of wireless networks at home. However, sometimes problems or faults occur, affecting the use of wireless networks.

So: What common faults may occur in the use of wireless AP panels? And how to solve them? Here we take CHINT Wireless AP Panel as an example to explain common faults and solutions of such panels.

Common fault 1 of the wireless AP panel:

Fail to log onto the router administration interface

Solution:

a. Try to set the Computer IP address manually to log onto it. Make sure that your IP entered is correct - the address field shall be 192.168.7.x (x ranging from 2 to 253).

b. Change the browser and wipe its cache, make sure that its connection mode is permanent dial-up connection.

c. If the above tips fail to help you log onto the router, please restore it to factory settings and operate it again.

Common fault 2 of the wireless AP panel:

Fail to connect the computer to the Internet after finishing configuration

Solution:

a. Make sure the device is connected to the power supply and network cable.

b. Check the computer on its "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" attribute interface to see if the "Automatically obtain an IP address" and "Automatically obtain a DNS server address" are checked.

Common fault 3 of the wireless AP panel:

Fail to reach wireless signals in your laptop

Solution:

a. Make sure the laptop's wireless switch is normally on.

b. Make sure that the wireless router is normally powered.

c. Check to see if there is any serious interference source (cordless telephone or microwave oven) nearby.

d. If the failure still exists, please restore the router to factory settings.

Common fault 4 of the wireless AP panel:

Forget the secret key for wireless encryption

Solution:

a. Use the network cable to connect the computer and wireless router, log onto the wireless router via wired connection and check the parameters related to wireless security settings.

b. Restore the wireless router to factory settings.

Common fault 5 of the wireless AP panel:

Have no idea of how to restore to factory settings

Solution:

Press the power switch on the panel to power it off and restart the device. The system light will remain normally on at the beginning of startup; seconds later, insert a thin needle into the RST hole and hold it for over 5 seconds, then the system will restore to factory settings.
