Do you know the classification of lamp tubes?
Lamp tubes are lamps commonly seen or applied in our life, and are especially widely used in offices, factories, malls & supermarkets and rural houses. Also, purchasers and users may find that fluorescent tubes fall into so many types. Failure to distinguish them clearly could lead to the selection of a wrong type that may fail to work normally. So, how is the classification of lamp tubes?
Let's see the preliminary introduction by CHINT Illumination!
Classification of lamp tubes:
1. Based on the light source: daylight lamp tubes, fluorescent lamp tubes (commonly known as energy-saving lamp tubes) and LED lamp tubes.
The latter two are commonly applied, especially LED lamp tubes which have, with its outstanding energy-saving property, gradually substituted traditional daylight and fluorescent lamp tubes.
2. Based on the tube diameter: T4, T5, T8, T9, T10 and so on.
The larger the numerical, the bigger the tube diameter - which means that the tube is thicker, its light volume is bigger and mass heavier usually. T1 is 1/8 inch, and one inch equals to 25.4mm, so T1 is 25.4÷8=3.175mm.
T5 and T8 tubes are commonly used at home. T5 tube has a diameter of 16mm and T8 26mm.
3. Based on the lampshade material: glass tubes, full-plastic tubes and aluminum-plastic tubes.
These three types of tubes have their respective advantages, and are also commonly applied currently.
In terms of price, it normally goes glass tube < full-plastic tube < aluminum-plastic tube. This is mainly because that the costs of plastics (especially PC materials) and aluminum materials are relatively higher.
4. Based on the power connection mode: single-ended input tubes and double-ended input tubes.
The former refers to tubes with one-end power input, and the latter refers to those with both-end power input.
5. Based on the structural form: single tubes and integrated-frame lamp tubes.
The integrated-frame lamp tube integrates the tube and lamp frame. It is easy to mount and use.
The above is a rough introduction to the classification of lamp tubes. Of course, there are more refined classifications, such as infrared lamp tubes, radar sensor lamp tubes, etc.
The aforesaid classifications of lamp tubes can basically allow you to get acquainted with lamp tubes. When it comes to an actual choice, you may need to comprehensively consider the factors such as usage scenario, lighting needs and price. You can consult customer service staff when making a choice for a lamp tube that suits your usage the most.
